Robert held a birthday fundraiser for the BC SPCA dedicated to his memory of his beloved dog Luna and raised over $500. “My birthday is a legacy to our lovely Luna. It's one of the ways we are remembering her and it's also allowing us to help those that help animals like her.”
Most kids would be eagerly looking forward to their birthday with a wish list of new toys and gadgets they wanted but nine-year-old Cooper chose to collect donations for the animals instead of gifts, raising $1,014 in 2016, then $1,050 in 2017 and an incredible $1,655 in donations for 2018.
Raymond wanted to do something different and meaningful for his 70th birthday, honouring all of the animals that have been so much a part of his life providing him with lots of love, companionship and joy over the years. Raymond expected to raise $1,000 but donations poured in and he raised a total of $1,811 for animals in need.
Starting with his 40th birthday as a catalyst, and redirecting funds that would otherwise go towards gifts, Chadd set a goal of raising funds for the BC SPCA. "Let's help those that are unable to help themselves."
